A sign next to this railroad bridge in Garden River, Ontario, Canada reads as follows:
On This Site 50 Years Ago…
June 21, 1973
A group of young Ogichidaa stood up in unity to make a statement to the world. This Is Indian Land has withstood the test of time and remains an iconic symbol of our expression of breeding from the Ojibway world view. They did so to honour our Elders, spiritual people of Turtle Island and future generations of Ogichidaa.
We remember their bravery and courage - Willi Boissoneau, Bob Boissoneau, Darrell Boissoneau, Keith Boissoneau, Andre Lesage and Scott Lesage. This is their legacy.
