Carbon Transfer
While wandering the Apalachacola National Forest in the Florida panhandle, I noticed that every little town had a cemetery, and the centerpiece of each cemetery was a majestic live oak tree properly festooned with Spanish moss. My eye was drawn to the splashes of color in this one: confederate battle flags and those of the United States. It interested me that the confederate flags were better cared for and displayed more prominently, causing me to wonder if the occupant of this grave had tried during his life after the war to be a good citizen of his country, but never quite achieving his goal.
