The automobile company Studebaker may not have the name recognition like Ford or General Motors, but they did build one of the classiest cars ever, the Avanti. They also built some solid, dependable pickup trucks that were the latter-day workhorses of farmers all over the country.
Once it had given its all in service to its previous owners, this truck was abandoned in a field in South Dakota, where it became an easy target for local would-be marksmen. An ignominious end to a such a noble breed of truck.
